Aldo vasquez, m.sc.

Aldo brings over 25 years of experience as a Principal Geoscientist, mostly in the fields of Geochemistry, Economic Geology and lately Mineral Systems and Predictive Mapping. Aldo's careers encompasses years as Principal Geologist & Geochemist working for major companies like BHP, Barrick and Codelco.

We go way back...

It was Grade 8 and we used to meet at school on Saturdays for our German classes. Then we completed Grades 11 and 12 at the same class, and we went to the University of Chile, School of Enginnering at the same time. Aldo went into Geology, I went to Geophysics.

After graduation, Aldo joined Codelco, where he was an Exploration Geologist for 8 years and started his specialization in Geochemistry. Subsequently he served as a Senior Project Geologist for Amec Foster Wheeler.

The next 10 years saw Aldo spending almost equal amounts of time at Barrick and BHP. It was at BHP where he went from Principal Geologist Geochemist at the Global Generatvie Team, to Superintendent of Exploration.

In 2021 Aldo moved to Scotland to pursue an M.Sc. in Global Challenges - Mining at the University of Glasgow. Since then we have been working together on Prospectivity Mapping and Mineral Systems.
